SEATTLE - August 19, 2008 - WidgetBucks, a global ad network of shopping widgets that helps online publishers make money through online advertising, today announced that Internet media executive Kirby Winfield has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer, a new role within the company.
As WidgetBucks' CRO, Winfield is responsible for the company’s advertising sales and distribution strategy. He brings extensive online media, sales and advertising-industry experience to WidgetBucks at a time when the ad network is expanding its product verticals beyond shopping and further developing advertiser and merchant relationships.
Winfield spent five years at Marchex, Inc. (2003-2008), where he was General Manager and Vice President of the consumer Web site division, overseeing more than 200,000 owned and operated Web sites. During his tenure, Marchex grew to 31 million unique monthly visitors and conducted a successful NASDAQ IPO. Winfield also spent five years at Go2Net (acquired by InfoSpace), where he was responsible for corporate, brand, and product marketing. During this time Go2Net became a top 20 online network and conducted a successful NASDAQ IPO.
